About our Lead Instructor
Edgar Talayko
Hello! I’m Edgar Talayko, a professional chess player and coach with over 10 years of playing and coaching experience with a peak rating of 2039. In addition to founding and managing a variety of tournaments, clubs, and groups across the Milwaukee Wisconsin area, I’ve also been instructing chess at CheckMatesUSA and the International Academy of Chess since 2016.
My coaching philosophy and curriculum is tailored to each person individually, in a way that allows anybody to grow their chess skills and hone winning strategies quickly. From absolute chess beginners to competing professionals, I can guarantee that your gameplay will improve right down to how you think about each move!
