This class is designed for children ages 5–14 who are completely new to chess or have a limited understanding of how to move the pieces and the rules of the game. In a fun, structured, and encouraging environment, students will learn how every piece moves, the core rules of play, and how a full game of chess works — step by step.
By the end of the 8 weeks, students will have the foundation they need to sit down, play a full game confidently, and keep growing.

This class is for children ages 5–14 who already know how to move the pieces but are still getting comfortable with all the rules of the game. Students will sharpen their understanding of chess by learning how to break down and solve puzzles, teaching them how to spot and find good moves in their own games.
Each student will receive a workbook tied to the curriculum to reinforce lessons and practice puzzles at home between sessions.

This class is open to teens and adults ages 14 and up who know the rules of the game and have a basic understanding of how to start a game. Students will move beyond the basics into building fundamental chess strategy — learning how to form a plan, think ahead, and break down and solve basic tactical themes that come up in real games.
Each student will receive a workbook tied to the curriculum to support study and reinforce key concepts between weekly sessions.
